So here we are cooking and baking and eating and drinking. There is no better way to enjoy family and friends than to spend time together in the kitchen.
As a retired baby boomer I'm lucky to be busy with my family and grandchildren.
Though I'm kept quite busy I do love to bake, cook, and enjoy entertaining. Desserts are my favorite. I enjoy making and baking desserts and of course I enjoy eating desserts.
I also enjoy wine. I started out fascinated by the concept of winemaking. I took classes for a while and had a few wonderful teachers. Someone very near and dear to me was a food and wine genius and he graciously taught me a lot more with hands on experience.
I then learned to taste wine, then drink wine and finally learned to like it. It took some time but it was worth it. My biggest lesson learned was that wine is for everyone to enjoy. There is no reason to be a wine snob. It's just grape juice that has grown up and if we know some of its nuances we can then learn to enjoy it even more.
I hope you stay with me and enjoy my posts, easy recipes and Wine Review Mondays which is basic wine information for everyone.
Wine is not meant to be intimidating. I hope I convey that to you so that if you are new to wine you will be motivated to go to your local wine shop or order a glass of wine in your favorite restaurant to enjoy with your meal.
I'm definitely NOT a self-proclaimed foodie or wine geek/snob. I'm just a busy wife, mother, and grandmother who loves to spend time with my family. Spending unnecessary hours in the kitchen only takes away from my "play" time. So my claim to fame is good food that is easy to prepare and plenty of time for fun.
Oh, and did I mention I need to satisfy my passion for dessert!
